One of the most valuable tools for a musician is a database of fans. Many musicians' Web sites have a way for fans to provide their e-mail addresses, but they don't take many critical steps that are crucial to building and maintaining an effective and profitable database, such as:

  • automating the sign-up process so that adding e-mail address is seamless and accurate

  • capturing information that will help determine who is signing up

  • providing instructions for fans to help ensure their spam filters don't block your messages

  • using e-mail technology that automatically sends e-mails (unlike Outlook and Entourage) to avoid headaches, maximize deliverability of messages and actually see results of mailings - such as who opened them, what links they clicked and who they forwarded it to, etc.

Driving Web Site traffic to build the database...

Current fans and potential fans are out there on the web. The key to boosting web site traffic and, ultimately, growing that database, is to reach out to every corner of the Internet. But how do you do that affordably?

Working cooperatively with your webmaster, Orkin Marketing creates a newsletter that is posted on your web site. We work with you to develop a monthly or bi-monthly newsletter to deliver fresh content that keeps people coming back.

Every month (or two), fans on the e-mail list receive a sharp-looking graphic e-mail from you. They click a link that takes them to the newsletter, where they get tour dates, breaking news and guest articles by other musicians (a great way to build traffic).
